“They eagerly received Paul’s message and met with him daily, closely reading the Scriptures to see if they supported what he said.”—Acts 17:11Hi, I’m Karl Baker. I teach close reading of scripture to students around the world because as God’s word to us, it deserves our best effort at understanding. Check out this website to learn more about this Bible study method and my ministry. I’m excited to partner in ministry with Paraclete Mission Group, iTEE Global, and Global Link Afrika.

So what is close reading?
In close reading we try to hear all that a text and its author intend to communicate. We take a journey into the author's world, ask what the text meant to its original audiences ”back then,” then try to find its significance for us today.
In my ministry, I regularly engage students at home and abroad in close reading of God’s word.
As I share this method with church leaders in the majority world, I’d love to share it with you too. Sign up for my newsletter below and join me on this journey!
